Looking Ahead to Eisteddfod y Garreg Las 2026

We are delighted to share our excitement as we prepare to host a stand at this year’s Eisteddfod y Garreg Las. The festival will take place from 1–8 August 2026 at Llantwd, nestled in the beautiful landscape of north Pembrokeshire.

This year’s Eisteddfod carries particular historical significance, marking the 850th anniversary of the first recorded Eisteddfod, held in 1176 at Castell Aberteifi. With the Maes situated not far from this historic site, the 2026 festival promises to be a truly special occasion—not only for our local community, but for West Wales as a whole.

The National Eisteddfod is the largest cultural festival in Europe and one of the most cherished events in the Welsh calendar, attracting approximately 175,000 visitors each year. People travel from across Wales and beyond to celebrate the richness of Welsh language, music, literature, art, and community life. The Maes itself will be alive with hundreds of competitions, performances, exhibitions, and stalls, offering something for everyone to enjoy. Alongside the traditional ceremonies and competitions, visitors can also experience the vibrant energy of Maes B, renowned for its live music and evening events—perfect for those seeking a lively festival atmosphere.

Over the past year, communities throughout Pembrokeshire, along with south Ceredigion and west Carmarthenshire, have worked tirelessly to raise funds in preparation for hosting the Eisteddfod. With a combined target of £400,000, we are pleased to share that this goal is now very nearly within reach. This remarkable achievement reflects the dedication, generosity, and enduring community spirit of our region, with individuals, groups, and organisations all contributing to support this vibrant cultural tradition.

For Cwm Arian, being present at Eisteddfod y Garreg Las is a wonderful opportunity to share our work, connect with new people, and play our part in this historic year. The festival extends a warm welcome to all—regardless of background or fluency in Cymraeg—and offers a truly inclusive celebration of culture and community.

We very much hope to see you there. Do let us know if you plan to attend—we would be delighted to welcome you to our stand.
