Fruit and Bounty

Nurturing a thriving fruit economy
in  Pembrokeshire

The project

We believe that an area that produces and provides its own food locally will be more resilient and better-connected.

So we’ve launched “Fruit and Bounty” – a project to nurture the fruit and bounty production of Pembrokeshire and the surrounding area and to help build a thriving orchard and fruit economy.

Here’s what we aim to do, with a bit more information further down:

Fruit enterprise support

We are supporting smaller fruit-themed business and enterprises in the county to tap into the suppliers and markets of the area better, to access training and to build up their confidence and skills.

If you are one of those, we may be able to support you. Get in touch with us to find out more.

Apple juicing

We are running community apple juicing all over the county in our biggest year yet. Find out how to join in here.

We are also running a fantastic Apple Day event on October 1st at Ffrwythau Pencoed, Llechryd. Come along and join in the fun

Mother Orchard scion network

We aim to create a county-wide “Mother Orchard” network of Pembrokeshire varieties, and a “scion sharing network” to spread to make a diversity of fruit varieties available far and wide.

We are running training events to build orchard, fruit and enterprise skills and to celebrate all things fruit. Our Apple Day are our community juicing days are the first examples of these.

If you’d like to be involved, to volunteer, to have your apples juiced, to find out more about the enterprises or to ask a question, please get in touch:

or call 07818 091739 or 01239 611943

Supporting fruit-themed enterprise in Pembrokeshire

If you run a business based around orchards, fruit, or fruit trees in Pembrokeshire, or if you are planning to, then we may be able to work with you.

Maybe you sell fruit juice, make cider, sell table fruit, run a fruit tree nursery? Or maybe you’re planning to.

Our aim is to provide direct and practical support to enterprises like these across Pembrokeshire, to help get products to market more easily, source supplies more locally, build the skills and knowledge needed or help in other ways.

We hope to connect enterprises together that can support each other or share skills and knowledge, including through some events. We want to support new and developing enterprises to grow. And we want to help promote enterprises and products locally.

But first we need to hear what’s needed - if you run a business around fruit or fruit trees, we want to know what you need so we can shape the project around that. We have a few simple questions we’d like to ask, so please get in touch:, call 07818 091739 or 01239 611943.

Travelling apple juicing service 2022

Following the success of CARE’s travelling apple juicing service over the last two years, we’re at it again and we want to juice even more.

Whether you have one tree or a hundred, in a community orchard or a private garden, you can bring them along to one of our events around Pembrokeshire and we’ll juice them for just 50p a litre.

Find out more about where we are going when here.

And there’s more - building the fruit and orchard network

We’re holding events over the next year

  • to graft, collect together and share Pembrokeshire fruit tree varieties,

  • to provide training in orchard and fruit skills,

  • and we’re planning a few celebratory events on orchard and fruit themes.

More soon, but if you have any skills you’d like to learn, or if you’d like to find out more, get in touch:

or 07818 091739 or 01239 611943.
