Y Stiwdio - Eco-building
A Studio for a Community. We are currently building a community studio in Hermon using ecological processes. Want to learn sustainable building skills and get involved with building the Studio? Volunteers needed for 5 days in late September to build the walls with Hempcrete Cymru. We can supply the necessary PPE. 2 spaces only, please get in touch asap to secure your place. Great to add to CV!
Y Stiwdio - Gardening and landscaping
Want to be involved with the design and creation of the outside area? Attend:
- our community design session in November to ensure your ideas shape the plans and/or
- a series of workdays in Spring 2022 to create the garden.
Y Stiwdio - Interior design, painting and furnishing
Interested in being part of the design and creation of the interior of the Studio? In Spring 2022, come along to:
- our community design session to co-create the interior design plan
- an upcycled furniture-making workshop where we will turn materials from the old garage into new furnishings
Apple Juicing and Orchard Care
This Autumn, get involved with a series of community apple juicing days across Pembrokeshire using our mobile apple press! We need volunteers to:
- Operate the juicing kit, and/or collect apples
- Plant, manage and improve orchards.
We are looking for someone to volunteer either from their own home, or at our office, to work on website re-design, development, and translation (into Welsh).
Learn to identify and remove invasive Himalayan balsam by joining our regular balsam bashing group as a volunteer. Currently, activity is based in Tegryn and the surrounding area. Over time, and as we build up our volunteer base, our remit will widen.
Tree Planting and Land Management
This Autumn and Winter we’re working with several sites across the county, creating new hedges, ‘gapping up’ existing hedgerows and ‘laying’ mature hedge lines. Learn about how hedges benefit biodiversity, how to plant and care for hedges and become a part of our marvellous planting team!
