Supporting Resilient Renewable Communities

CARE delivered the Supporting Resilient Renewable Communities (SRRC) project between February 2017 and March 2019.  Funded via an EU LEADER grant through Welsh Government and Arwain Sir Benfro, the project was a pilot which looked at the scope for developing a network of community energy talks and initiatives, the opportunities for community energy generation and sought ways of reducing the carbon foot prints in 10 communities in North Pembrokeshire.

SRRC welcomed hundreds of local people to events and talks including a foraging walk, 2 film nights with pop-up cafes, information evenings on renewable-fuel vehicles and how to store energy from solar PV, and a visit to inspiring local homes.

We worked with all sorts of community groups, businesses and households and collaborated with lots of projects from across Pembrokeshire.

We hope to use what we learned to support households, businesses and individuals with fuel use, energy efficiency and more in the future.
