Hermon Community Resource Centre Energy Use

Since the the end of November 2011 we have been monitoring the total electricity use of Hermon's Community Resource Centre using a Current Cost Energy Monitor.

The data recorded by the monitor was uploaded to Google Power Meter - online software for graphing electricity usage. Although we can't show the interactive results on the website, we have taken an image of the monthly energy usage.

You may be able to get a Free Energy Monitor for your home from your electricity supplier.

December 2010

HCRC Usage December 2010

In this first month of measuring the electricity use, no changes were made to the usual electricity.

The total electricity used in December was 840kWh (kiloWatt hours), costing the equivalent of £1500 per year.

Notice the lower usage over xmas period when staff were away.

January 2011

HCRC Usage January 2011

We made some changes to our electricity use, and have reduced the use to 540kWh for the month - a saving of £500 compared to December - if this were to continue for the whole year.

There are still many electricity saving measures we can take in February to reduce our electricity consumption even further.

*Data is incomplete for Jan25th - due to the energy monitor being switched off for a while.
